How do I store my cosmetics?

New to Tallow cosmetics?  Here's some tips & best practices to store your cosmetics.
Please note - while we do recommend you store them in the fridge, we do not recommend you do that with your whipped body butters. It will harden, and you will lose the whipped, fluffy texture.

Storing tallow-based cosmetics properly is essential to maintain their quality and extend their shelf life. By following these tips & best practices you can help ensure that your cosmetics remain effective and safe to use for as long as possible.

Cool, Dark Place:

Store tallow-based cosmetics in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Exposure to light and heat can cause the tallow to oxidize and spoil more quickly.

Airtight Containers:

Use airtight containers to prevent exposure to air, which can lead to oxidation and rancidity. Glass jars with tight-fitting lids are often a good choice.

Refrigeration:

For longer shelf life, you can store your tallow-based cosmetics in the refrigerator. This is particularly useful in warmer climates where room temperature may be too high.

Avoid Moisture:

Ensure that the storage environment is dry. Moisture can promote the growth of mold and bacteria, which can spoil the product.

Clean Hands/Tools:

Always use clean hands or tools when handling tallow-based cosmetics to avoid introducing contaminants that can cause spoilage.
